It is our pleasure to announce the Eighth Annual Spanish Literary Contest Cuentistas. The NMTESOL & NMAEA 2011 Conference will be held in Las Cruces on November 4:
Join us for 2 days of professional development for ESOL and Adult Basic Education/GED instructors and educational support staff. Instructors, administrators, tutors, data technicians, and all other friends and colleagues are welcome.
Our keynote speakers will be author and researcher Dr. Heide Spruck- Wrigley and NM State Senator Howie C. Morales.
The registration fee is $75, with a discounted rate of $25 for presenters. Included in the fee are snacks on Friday and a continental breakfast and catered lunch on Saturday. Registrants have a choice of membership in NMAEA or NMTESOL, which is also included in the registration fee. The Ramada Palms Inn is offering a rate of $85 + tax for participants. NMABE, along with Dual Language Education of New Mexico and the Hobbs Schools, will be hosting the 2011 Southeastern Multicultural Institute on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Hobbs Freshman High School. The event runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and features a packed schedule of breakout sessions. NMABE and the Southern New Mexico Consortium will be hosting the 2012 Southern Regional Institute on February 25, 2012 at Oñate High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The event is from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and features a complimentary continental breakfast and lunch, an informative opening keynote address, and hot topics covering Spanish Literacy, Cultural Sensitivity, New Mexico ELD standards, parental involvement, and so much more.
